I was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1983. I received the M.S. in Telecommunication and Electronic Eng. and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Eng. from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, in 2006 and 2012 respectively. From January 2012 - January 2014, I held a postdoctoral researcher position in the Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering Group from the Electronic Engineering Department at the UPC. Since January 2014, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School, Boston MA, USA.

My main interests are the measurement and identification of bioimpedance excited by multisine signals.

In collaboration with the grup d'Insuficencia Cardiaca i Regeneracio Cardiaca (ICREC) from Fundacio d’Investigacio en Ciencies de la Salut Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP) and the Tissue Engineering Laboratory from Institut Quimic de Sarria (IQS). Financed by Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares CNIC. January 2009 – December 2011.

Foreign Training
  1. Visiting researcher at the Automatic Control Lab and ACCESS Linnaeus Center, School of Electrical Engineering, KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.
  2. Visiting researcher at the Department of Fundamental Electricity and Instrumentation (ELEC), Faculty of Engineering, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Brussels, Belgium.
PhD
  • Title "Broadband electrical impedance spectroscopy for dynamic bioimpedance characterization" Promoters: Dr. R Bragos, Dr. G Vandersteen. Date: January 2012.
The research topics presented in my PhD thesis covered the challenges to measure non-parametrically time-varying electrical bioimpedance excited by multisine excitations. My research activity contributed to a formal approach for designing the optimal multisine excitation. Furthermore, a novel frequency response estimation method was proposed to reject leakage errors in nonsteady-state bioimpedance measurements.
